Comments:

The genre she conceived is the one we now know as 'Idealized Still Life.' Though she was hailed as a visionary during her early career, her aesthetic had been completely rejected by the time she brought it to its climax. Two decades later, the above painting would have contained only seeds on a plate, and toward the end. . . just the plate.
